Amy’s Bread is a nationally recognized bakery/cafe that specializes in hand-made, traditional bread as well as sandwiches, sweets, and old-fashioned layer cakes. The bakery started in 1992 in Hell's kitchen with 5 staff members; today the staff has grown to 190 and delivers to over 200 wholesale customers daily. They only buy local and organic ingredients, local dairy products, eggs, and local seasonal fruits. The customers get delighted to see the counter piled high with a variety of loaves in different shapes and sizes. Amy’s Bread is a cross between a Parisian boulangerie and a cozy Midwestern kitchen.
