The Flower Fields

Located in Carlsbad just north of San Diego, The Flower Fields is a famous seasonal attraction featuring nearly 50 acres of vibrant Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers. Visitors can stroll along manicured walking paths, take tractor wagon rides, and explore themed gardens and nursery displays. Because the fields operate seasonally during spring, the site is temporarily closed to the public for the remainder of the year.

History

The history of The Flower Fields dates back to the early 1920s when Luther Gage, an early settler and horticulturist, planted the first ranunculus seeds in the area. Over the years, the cultivation techniques were refined and expanded, transforming the fields into the spectacular bloom seen today. This place stands as a living legacy of both the natural beauty of the region and the agricultural heritage it represents.
