Turu is seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Marketing to run all the aspects of marketing from scratch and build the marketing organization from the ground up. In this role, you will manage all marketing efforts including planning, research, advertising, communications, and public relations in line with our objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, user acquisition, and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the founder, co-founder, and leadership team on the organization-wide strategy planning and expand our thinking around the role of marketing in achieving growth.
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital advertising, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new growth opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Manage and optimize our digital marketing efforts, including SEO/SEM, PPC, and social media advertising.
  • Build and manage a high-performing marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and influencers to drive strategic partnerships and collaborations.

Qualification

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong bias for action.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a hands-on marketing leader, preferably in the travel, B2C, or technology industry, with a track record of successfully developing and executing marketing strategies.
  • Creative thinking and a strong understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.

Compensation

You'll be awarded sizeable equity in the company. The target salary range for this role is $160,000 - $210,000. It's important to mention that compensation for this position will be contingent upon the successful funding of our startup, as we are currently in the process of raising funds. However, rest assured that once you join our team, you will be paid from your start day onwards as soon as we secure the funds.

Working for a very early-stage startup such as Turu comes with higher risks and rewards. It is important for us to be transparent. Here are a few to consider:

Downside

Multiple Hats: You will be responsible for establishing and managing all marketing processes, taking on multiple roles. While this grants you the chance to create these processes from scratch, it can be demanding if you are not comfortable handling various tasks independently.
Financial Uncertainty: While our salary is competitive, We'll pay your salary based on your start date but the money will be paid only after we raise the funds.

We are seeking a talented and motivated full-stack Founding Engineer with a strong focus on front-end development to join our dynamic startup team. As a founding engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the direction of our product and contribute to the growth of the company from its early stages. We use OpenJDK (Java), JavaScript, Bootstrap, SCSS, Spring, Hibernate, Node, NPM, Yarn, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, and other related languages and AI frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the founder, and co-founder to execute the product vision, make key architecture and design decisions, and build on the existing ecosystem.
  • Design, develop, and implement new features and functionalities for our product.
  • Build robust APIs and integrate third-party services as needed.
  • Optimize the application for speed, scalability, and security.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of the system to ensure a high-quality product.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in hiring and mentoring future engineering team members as the company grows.

Qualification

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer or similar role, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
  • Experience working with databases and knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience in building and consuming APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter, and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation
