History
The Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens were established by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1937 as a retreat for monks and a center for spiritual renewal for visitors. Yogananda was a pioneer in bringing the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga to the West. The hermitage and gardens have since become a beacon of spiritual solace, continuing Yogananda's mission of fostering harmony and understanding among people of all nations and beliefs.
