Mount Sopris

Mount Sopris is a towering twin-peaked mountain rising to 12,965 feet in the Elk Mountains near Carbondale, Colorado. Although sometimes confused with Rocky Mountain National Park, it is located within the White River National Forest at the edge of the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. Visitors can enjoy dramatic valley views from below or hike the strenuous 13-mile trail leading up to Thomas Lakes and the summit.
