The Arepa Lady

Originating as a beloved street cart run by Maria Piedad Cano, The Arepa Lady now operates as a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Jackson Heights, Queens. The kitchen specializes in sweet and savory Colombian corn cakes layered with melted cheese, savory meats, and traditional sauces. Guests can also enjoy mini empanadas, picadas, and classic Colombian comfort dishes in a vibrant neighborhood setting.

• There are four different Arepas: Arepa de Choclo (most famous), Arepa de Queso, Arepa de Rellena, Arepa de Tela with garlic sauce, pink sauce, or pineapple sauce. There is also a wide selection of Empanadas, Colombian burgers, Chicharron, Street corn, Chorizo, and much more. A decent beer, juice, and sangria selection are also available.
