Mount Shavano

Mount Shavano does not exist within Great Sand Dunes National Park. The 14,231-foot peak is actually located in the Sawatch Range near Salida, Colorado, roughly 70 miles north of the park. Visitors to Great Sand Dunes National Park looking for high-altitude hiking should instead explore trails in the Sangre de Cristo Range.
