FreeExplore classic fire engines and historic firefighting gear in Little Italy
Housed in San Diego's oldest firehouse, the San Diego Firehouse Museum showcases over a century of local emergency response history. Visitors can view a collection of vintage fire apparatus—ranging from horse-drawn carriages to early motorized trucks—alongside historic helmets, alarms, and gear. Located in the heart of Little Italy, it offers an engaging glimpse into the story of the city's firefighters.
History
The Firehouse Museum, located in the historic Fire Station No. 6, has been a part of San Diego since its establishment in 1962. The building itself, which was operational from 1905, played a significant role in protecting the San Diego community for decades. It was transformed into a museum to preserve and honor the legacy of firefighters.
