Tartine Manufactory
4.5$$· ModerateIconic Mission District venue serving world-class sourdough bread and artisanal pastries.
Tartine Manufactory is an expansive Mission District culinary hub combining a bakery, café, and restaurant under one roof. Housed in an airy, light-filled industrial space on Alabama Street, it showcases Tartine's world-renowned sourdough breads, sweet pastries, and seasonal California dishes. Visitors can enjoy counter-service breakfast and lunch or stay for relaxed evening dining alongside freshly brewed coffee.
Expert notes
- The food, including the bakery, is made with seasonal ingredients on the premise daily. It is a beautiful sight to see the fresh loaf of bread in a shell of blistered mahogany coming out of the oven spreading the smell all over the space. Coddled eggs with za’atar toast, avocado tartine, pain au chocolat, or freshly baked pastries are customer favorites. Customers also take home fresh loaves of bread, baguette, and other bakery goods.
