Luray Caverns

History

Luray Caverns was discovered in 1878 and quickly developed as a show cave, becoming one of the best-known cave attractions in the United States. One of its most distinctive features, the Great Stalacpipe Organ, was created in the mid-20th century and uses selected cave formations to produce musical notes, adding to the cavern’s long history as both a natural wonder and a visitor attraction.
